DIVE-LD explains engineering concepts, but release work should be checked against the standards, specifications and supplier data that actually govern the product. This page maps common DIVE-LD topics to standard families worth consulting.
Important: Standards are revised, superseded and adopted differently by industry and region. The references below are navigation aids, not a declaration that a particular edition applies to your project. Confirm the current edition and contractual requirement before release.
Geometry and drawing definition
- ISO 1101 — geometrical tolerancing of form, orientation, location and run-out.
- ISO 5459 — datums and datum systems.
- ISO 8015 — GPS fundamentals and principles.
- ISO 14405 series — dimensional tolerancing.
- ASME Y14.5 — dimensioning and tolerancing, widely used in North America.
Linear-size tolerances and fits
- ISO 286 series — ISO code system for tolerances on linear sizes and fits.
- ISO 2768 series — legacy/general tolerance references often found on drawings; verify whether the specified edition is current and contractually applicable.
Product-data exchange
- ISO 10303 (STEP) — product model data representation and exchange.

Bearings, gears and fasteners
- ISO 281 — rolling bearings, dynamic load ratings and rating life.
- ISO 6336 series — calculation of load capacity of spur and helical gears.

Surface specification
- ISO 21920 series — profile surface-texture specification and indication.
- Supplier process capability and inspection method remain essential because drawing symbols alone do not guarantee a manufacturing result.
